HOW TO GET HIGH SCORES IN VSTEP EXAMS


 

I. INTRODUCTION:

To achieve good results in the Vstep exam, in addition to the decisive factor of preparing English knowledge firmly, you also need to know some Vstep exam tips.

II. CONTENT:

Vstep exam is an English certificate test A2, B1, B2, C1 according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework for Vietnam issued by authorized schools of the Ministry of Education and Training. In particular, there are 2 types of exams: Vstep Level 2 (A2) and Vstep Level 3 – 5 (B1, B2, C1). 

Vstep Level 2 exam includes 4 skills Listening – Speaking – Reading – Writing, in elementary English. Candidates can refer to the article on the structure of the A2 Vstep exam to understand the definition, structure and information about the Vstep A2 exam.

1. Set learning goals: From the first step of systematizing knowledge, candidates need to set learning goals. Break down daily and weekly goals according to each skill. Always completing small goals by day, by week will contribute to motivation in the learning process.

2. Systematize knowledge: This is necessary before you embark on the Vstep review process. Please summarize Vstep English knowledge (Level 2 or Level 3 – 5), then divide the amount of knowledge into small parts to make it easier to review.

Specific steps for each part of the test like Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing as follows:

- For the Vstep Listening test, you should read the question in advance while the speaker is playing an overview of how to do the test. In the first listen, do it and choose the answer first to draft, then check the answer and fill in the answer in the 2nd listen.

- For Vstep Reading multiple-choice questions, you should avoid leaving your answers blank. If you can't choose the correct answer, choose one at random.

- The Vstep A2 Speaking test is considered one of the most difficult skills. Candidates should practice speaking according to each topic separately. Should answer each question about 3 questions is the most reasonable, avoid answering too curtly, the examiner will not test your communication ability, ability to use words and grammar.

- In the Writing Test, candidates should make an outline first, after writing, read it again and check the grammar, spelling, and words to see if they have enough ideas, whether they are rambling off topic or not.

Moreover, you can start by adding vocabulary and grammar knowledge. A large vocabulary will greatly assist in reviewing 4 skills of Listening – Speaking – Reading – Writing.

Vstep A2 and B1 exams are generally not too difficult, only at the basic and intermediate levels. However, if you want to achieve the certificate quickly and definitely pass, candidates should practice regularly and apply Vstep exam tips.
