THE FIRST PRIVATE UNIVERSITY BECOMES A UNIVERSITY
With the Government's decision dated October 7, Duy Tan University is the first private university to become a university.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long has just signed Decision No. 1115/QD-TTg dated October 7, converting Duy Tan University into Duy Tan University. According to this decision, Duy Tan University is a private higher education institution, has legal status, its own seal and account and operates in accordance with the law.
Duy Tan University reorganizes its organizational structure and operates on the basis of Duy Tan University in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Higher Education and other relevant legal provisions; the reorganization process must ensure the legitimate and legal rights and interests of related parties, operate normally, and prevent negativity, loss, and waste of finance and assets.
The University Council, the Chairman of the University Council, and the Rector of Duy Tan University continue to perform their functions, duties, and powers in accordance with current regulations until Duy Tan Group Joint Stock Company decides to recognize the University Council, recognize the Chairman of the University Council, and recognize the Director of Duy Tan University in accordance with the provisions of law.
Duy Tan Private University was established on November 11, 1994 under Decision No. 666/TTg of the Prime Minister. In 2015, the University converted to a private type under Decision No. 1704/QD-TTg dated October 2, 2015 of the Prime Minister and changed its name to Duy Tan University. The University is under the direct professional management of the Ministry of Education and Training and the territorial administrative management of the People's Committee of Da Nang City.

Has the approval of the direct management agency for public universities; has the consensus of investors representing at least 75% of the total contributed capital for private universities, private universities operating not for profit.
