1. MONEY

cash ▪ change

These are all words for money in the form of coins or paper notes.

If it is important to contrast money in the form of coins and notes and money in other forms, use cash: How much money/​cash do you have on you?

The ticket machine doesn’t give change.

Large is more formal than big and should be used in writing unless it is in an informal style. It is not usually used to describe people, except to avoid saying ‘fat’.
