Danang International Guitar Festival at Duy Tan University

The two main concerts of the Danang International Guitar Festival took place on the nights of December 27 and 28, 2024 at Duy Tan University, bringing a full and sublime musical feeling with the pinnacle melodies imbued with the art of classical guitar.

Even though it was the first time to organize, the Danang International Guitar Festival, organized by Danang Guitar (founded by artist Phan Xuan Tri), brought a musical space that could not be more wonderful, recording a journey full of passion of artists with the determination to bring classical guitar to more audiences. In addition to the main concerts, many other activities such as Master Class, "Guitar Making" Workshop... were organized, inspiring the hearts of those who love the art of classical guitar in Vietnam.

A festival that has been cherished for a long time has become extremely impressive thanks to the boundless inspiration from artists who have devoted their love to classical guitar for many years. The music night opened with the extremely bustling El Gato Montes (meaning "Stray Cat") with a youthful rhythm from the children's ensemble Dream Oasis Guitar Ensemble. This piece is often chosen to open balls, a pasodoble melody, taken from the 3-act opera by Manuel Panella (Spain). The children with their innocent, joyful and enthusiastic playing right from the first minutes brought passion to the hearts of many audiences.

Next, the audience was immersed in the Tango en skai performance by artist Padet Netpakdee (Thailand). This is the most famous free-spirited tango by French musician/guitarist - Roland Dyens. Artist Le Hoang Minh himself dedicated to the music night a neoclassical work by talented Polish musician Alexandre Tansman, Suite Cavatina (consisting of 5 movements). The audience witnessed a top-notch performance from a truly talented Australian-Vietnamese artist who always brings fresh emotions through the most sublimely conveyed musical pieces. Through many rich and diverse performances, spanning different musical periods such as baroque music, romantic music, neoclassical music, modern music, or Latin-American music,... the audience was able to meet and immerse themselves in a world of music through the excellent performances of artists such as: artist Campbell Diamond (Austria), artist Padet Netpakdee (Thailand), Australian artist of Vietnamese origin Le Hoang Minh, artist Phan Xuan Tri, artist Nguyen Ngoc San, Dream Oasis Guitar Ensemble...

Although having participated in many guitar concerts held regularly for decades, the Da Nang International Guitar Festival has surprised many audiences with the scale and quality of the program. The Danang International Guitar Festival has brought a new breeze in both form and content with careful preparation of sound and light in a space that ensures an international standard music night at Hall 03 Quang Trung, Danang of Duy Tan University.
