Duy Tan University is the First Private University to Switch to the University Model
Duy Tan University became the first private university in Vietnam to switch to the university model.
On November 10, Duy Tan University celebrated its 30th anniversary and announced the Prime Minister's decision to switch Duy Tan University to Duy Tan University.
With this decision, Duy Tan became the first private university to switch to the university model in our country and the 8th university in Vietnam, alongside Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Thai Nguyen University, Hue University, Da Nang University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics.
Established in 1994, Duy Tan University is one of the first 5 non-public universities in the country.
After 30 years of construction, the school now has 5 training facilities with an area of over 85,000m2, more than 250 practice rooms, laboratories, a medical simulation room system, a library system, a data center, etc.
Currently, the school has built a human resource team with more than 1,100 lecturers, the proportion of lecturers with doctoral degrees, with the title of Associate Professor, Professor reaching over 30%.
Speaking at the decision-granting ceremony, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son assessed that the establishment and development of Duy Tan University has contributed to changing the public-private structure in the university system, changing the face of higher education.
Not only bringing many jobs to scientists, learning opportunities for many students, but also contributing to the cause of education and training innovation, providing human resources for the country's development over the past 30 years.
With Duy Tan University developing a multidisciplinary training system with nearly 80 majors at all training levels, the Minister believes that becoming Duy Tan University is a choice of organizational and administrative model, and also a development model that demonstrates maturity and the need for new development from within.
"I hope that this change is not a change of name, but this change is towards depth, towards liberating creativity, towards modern and intelligent management.
I hope that the university will be operated with a more scientific and advanced university management apparatus. It will have both a larger scale and a higher mission with a long-term vision, towards sustainable development", Minister Nguyen Kim Son confided.
Towards areas that the country really needs
Minister Nguyen Kim Son believes that the development opportunities of the country are also opportunities for universities. At the same time, we expect Duy Tan University to seize the opportunity, accelerate the speed of development and the quality of development.
Especially aiming at new fields of science and technology, cutting-edge technology, industries that the country needs both in the short term and in the long term, including industries that require a lot of investment but take a long time to achieve results.
